The Election...

So folks, who will you vote for if  you can vote? Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump, or one of the other smaller political parties? ( Fact: Did you know Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are the two most unpopular candidates out of all the history of the U.S.?) If I were 18 and up and I was a resident of the U.S., I would vote for one of the smaller political parties, because they hardly ever get a chance to really show themselves and present to the whole America who they are. Consider my words if you are going to vote next Tuesday, November 11, 2016, because if you make a mistake and make the wrong vote that could cause the downfall of America, letting uncivilized countries rise and take lead.

It's SUMMERTIME!!

It is summertime
time to live a relaxing life
take a small vacation
that will cause no harm

its summertime
time to dance and laugh with friends

its summertime
the time you prepare for the next year
elders meet their children
and the children turn in to adults
they give life to a new child
and the cycle starts again

its summertime
the children enjoy their break
they study for the upcoming year
and get good grades every time
they have a test or quiz

its summertime
the time you long for during painful times
when you think of it you become calm
and collected
you get agitated and excited
giving you new energy
and filling you with excitement

its summertime
the only one of this year

The Unknown Brain Virus
BY: Jerry Chen
Chapter 1: Welcome to the World

Joey was a child who belonged to an average family called the Cronks. Joey was born on February 29, 1687 in Boston, Massachusetts. He was the only child. He learned how to walk at the age of 1 and to talk at the age of 3. So you see Joey was an average child but just with a rare birth date. Joey, welcome to the human world.             Chapter 2: The Great Difference
But, Joey was born with a virus maybe good maybe bad, but since this virus had never been seen before no one knew if it was good or bad. Joey was a smart child and a fast learner, at least according to his parents’ gene. He became one foot high at the age of 5, he skipped Kinder and also first grade because of his smartness. But since he was the shortest in second grade he was often bullied. But sometimes the virus made him dizzy and sometimes even faint.                                    Chapter 3: The Profitable Business
So you see, Joey’s life has a large difference compared to other kids at his age. However he did have a friend who was Steve an ordinary child who never skipped any grades. Together, they organized a group called the Free Learners. There, people can have either private or group lessons with Joey subjected on schoolwork and only 10 cents per person. In one lesson, Joey fainted on top of a client and had to teach a free lesson to the client because of the incident.

Chapter 4: Joey’s School
As I have said, Joey is a fast learner and also a fast growing child. Joey’s school is ranked top 3 in Boston and it is also a private school. When he was in second grade he became among the most famous and the best learners of the grade, even though he fainted in class. The first quarter the got all A+s except for Physical Ed., which he got a B plus. His parents automatically and also willingly lent him the gym key of the neighborhood so that he could get a little more exercise everyday.
Chapter 5: The Inspirement Once he started going to the gym he got inspired of how the weightlifters kept on going no matter how thirsty they are or how tired they are, they just kept on going. The second time he went, he tried it and found it surprisingly fun! Even though he got dizzy whenever he lifted weights. Then he realized that was the secret all the weightlifters had they found it fun and also good for their bodies that was why they were able to hold it in until the time they had set up. When he went home drinking a bottle of water he thought it felt good to achieve something.         Chapter 6: Grades and Parades

The second quarter in school in Physical Ed. he got an A plus and of course all the rest are A plusses too. Because the parent’s plan succeeded and Joey got his A plus on his class, they celebrated by marching in a parade around the neighborhood. It was the Cronks way of celebrating a victory against something or someone. Joey got his desire granted, except that he fainted during the parade.
Chapter 7: The Relaxing Vacation
Finally, it was time for vacation. Joey became excited because this was going to be his first time  air traveling, but he didn't know that he was airsick, seasick, and also carsick due to his virus. Yeah, it was pretty embarrassing so I’ll leave the rest to your imagination. When Joey accidentally bumped into the emergency button in the bathroom, that certainly wasn’t funny. But once they got to Hawaii everything turned around and Joey got lots of new experiences.                            Chapter 8: Third Grade Bully
So after a long way back, Joey qualified to be in third grade. But what will await him, a friend or a bully? So on a fine Thursday morning it became Joey’s worst fear a bully named Chrome was finding some newbies to insult when he saw Joey, the only person taller than him in the grade so he said: “ Hey, fatty nerd how’s it going?” “How’s what going?” asked Joey. “ Your date.” Chrome answered simply. Those two words sunk into Joey’s heart like a bullet. “ I’m not dating anyone, what are you talking about?” asked Joey defensively. “Tacerak said that you were dating Jackie.” said Chrome mockingly.
Chapter 9: Detective Jack Sherlock
Joey had to find out who got out the info that he was dating Jackie. Because the mystery made him faint. Reason #1 He hated Jackie. #2 Jackie liked him. So he set off to meet Jack, Jack Sherlock he was the official detective of the grade and also Steve’s best friend. He told Jack all the things that happened and told him he would pay 3 dollars for the job. Jack immediately accepted the deal. 1 month later he returned with news.
Chapter 10:  The Truth Comes to View
So it looks like that it was actually Jackie herself that spread out the news of her dating Joey, what a crazy human she is. So Joey paid Jack 3 dollars he managed to get from his business, The Free Learners, obviously it isn’t free it’s just a typo so don’t set your hopes too high because maybe he’ll faint on top of you.. Then he managed to keep the news a secret but to Jackie, he talked with her to get her to say that it was an accident and that she was actually dating another boy who comes from outer space.
IN MIDDLE SCHOOL

3 YEARS
LATER…

Chapter 11: Middle School Sized Problems
A few years past but still nothing interesting has happened since the Jackie date incident. Well, looks like today was Joey’s unlucky day, he woke up late and missed the bus so he got late to school, and since it was picture day he missed his picture, and also because he was so sleepy he slept in class an when the teacher saw him, BOOM! Detention. Well, that certainly was an exciting day for Joey.  But, he didn’t faint at all.
Chapter 12: Welcome to the World #2
Joey is now in middle school, ninth grade and one day after school, Mrs. Cronk, (Joey’s mother), said “ Joey, meet your baby twins. Jasmine and Jerry.” Joey was shocked, he almost fainted. He was not prepared to have siblings, and definitely not twins. Then she said: “I have been hiding it from you because I was afraid that you wouldn’t let me give birth to another child, I’m sorry.”

Chapter 13: Double Trouble
Joey still had trouble getting used to his baby brother and sister though he had nicknamed them: For Jerry he nicknamed him Jedi and for Jasmine he named her Jetty. They both liked their new names but they still often get Joey into trouble. Like when Jasmine stole all the milk in the refrigerator and when Jerry accidentally knocked down the trashcan, ew! ( Joey even fainted after that one. I almost barfed. Finally they became 1 year old.

IN HIGH SCHOOL
4 YEARS
LATER…

Chapter 14: Growing
Now Jerry and Jasmine are both 5 years old and also more intelligent. Joey volunteered to teach them English although he wasn’t a very good teacher. But what is said is done, Joey started his lesson on a Sunday so that the lessons won’t interfere with his school/personal business. Though there still were some problems, Joey couldn’t teach English without speaking English and since they still don’t know any language yet, that’s going to be a problem, and if he couldn’t solve it Joey would faint.

Chapter 15: Work Pays Off
So after many long lessons later Joey finally managed to teach English by simply pointing at the thing and saying it’s name. For example: You point at a bird and say bird. Yeah, pretty stupid that he didn’t think about that earlier. Joey fainted because of his virus. But finally Joey managed to teach both of them how to say: Cloud, bird, pencil, table, and cup
IN COLLEGE
6 YEARS
LATER…
Chapter 16: A New Life
Joey was very sad leaving his family and friends even though he knew he was going to make new friends in college. Steve, however was chosen to be in the same college as Joey. Joey was happy and relived to hear that good news. At least they’ll both be in problems together and solve them together, but maybe not faint together. Joey traveled with Steve to Hazsham College.                        Chapter 17: The Surprise
At first Joey was very nervous about college but when he heard that each one was getting their own room he suddenly felt a burst of excitement, he nearly fainted from it, maybe because he had never done it before. Then when they each got introduced to their rooms and rested a little bit  Joey got tackled by something or maybe even someone familiar. It was his family and siblings! He was happy that they visited him at a new and unfamiliar place.

ALMOST OUT OF COLLEGE
 3 AND ½ YEARS
LATER…
Chapter 18: The Girl
Joey is now used to college. This morning when he was walking in the hallway a random girl came out of nowhere and accidentally bumped into Joey, well at least he didn’t faint. She said sorry and hurried through the hallway in the opposite direction. Soon Joey found out her name and address. Her name was Samirah and her address was floor 6 room number 615.           Chapter 19: The Talk
After he Joey found out Samirah’s address he had an idea of going to visit her and chat a little bit with her and maybe even gain a new friend. Well, he sure visited her they also seem to get along pretty well. Joey even invited her to dinner. She happily accepted. They had a fabulous time together that night. That will be a day that he will never forget. Then he fainted of happiness.

OUT OF COLLEGE FOR 2 YEARS

2 AND ½ YEARS
LATER…
Chapter 20: The Decision
Joey is now a smart kid full of knowledge from Hazsham College, a college ranked top 2 in the world. After meeting with Samirah and getting to know her for a few years Joey made a decision for the rest of his life, even though he wasted a lot of his lifetime fainting. He asked Samirah if she wanted to be his wife. Samirah was happy he asked because she had been wanting to ask him but she didn’t have the courage.
Chapter 21: The Wedding    After the great decision was made Joey began preparing for the wedding. It would take place at a nice sunny grassy hill in Maine. Joey invited his best friend Steve and also his family members. Samirah only invited her family members and also her relatives. Joey tried hard not to faint. That day was a day he’ll never forget. It also may be the last happy day that he will never forget.
Chapter 22: Pregnant
A few months after the wedding, Samirah suddenly became pregnant. Joey rushed with her to the hospital to get the baby out. What he didn’t understand was that he has to wait a few months so that the baby can come out. Oh, he tried so hard not to faint in front of the whole hospital. So he went out to buy a cat for Samirah, oh, she loved cats. So he first stayed at the hospital with her for the day but when it became night Joey had to leave Samirah at the hospital because there was no space to sleep there.                 Chapter 23: The Sad Finish
The next day Samirah waited for Joey to come but at 12:00 AM she became very worried so she texted Steve to go check on him. Steve was crying when he called Samirah back. He’s, he’s gone. He said when he finally got the words out of his mouth. Samirah began crying as well. Scientists and doctors checked him for disease but the results were that it was the virus that killed him. The virus was a bomb virus a virus that chooses a time to set off and then BOOM! He’s gone.
Chapter 24: The Real Truth

Up above the funeral, the was a flag that said, my name is Joey Hamson Cronk, I was born with a newly discovered bomb virus in my brain.
I HOPE YOU ENJOYED IT

step 1 As I have slowly settled into a somewhat steady rhythm here on MIT’s campus, I still often get asked by upperclassmen and family back...
