 CMON JERRY THINK

OKAY, I'm on a very tight schedule here. Technically, I'm supposed to be in bed by now but I am not going to just stop my blog when I still have the energy to write it. So, today was the first day back in school since the break. It was also the first day this new schedule was put into effect.

So, since it was break last week, I had turned off all of my alarms from sounding in the morning to prevent me from waking up too early on a free day. Anyway, the point is that I forgot to turn them back on. And that's how I got late to my first class today. Ah, my internet was also terrible so that contributed as well.

As I got in, the class was already moving really fast. They had already covered circular motion, with rotational velocity, linear velocity, and the simplest part for me, the conversions between revolutions, radians, and degrees. Ok, that was probably a run-on sentence but I don't really care at this point because I'm really late on time and I need to finish his as fast as possible.

In Music, my teacher had flown to Maryland to visit his parents so his keyboard was a bit smaller than usual but that didn't really affect our lesson that much because it was mostly me playing and him just giving me some suggestions and hints on how to improve the sound.

Yup, so I think the Elegy is better than ever now. Maybe my teacher will also be surprised when I go to see her next week. OH yea, I think I didn't mention this but we scheduled to have classes with my piano teacher every other Wednesday starting from the last time we went.

PE, we were assigned to do a group project and this time we were allowed to choose our partners. Since my last name is C, it's one of the first ones so I got to choose first today. I got Psi on my team first, but then for the second round, Rama, Fox, and Pen were all taken already. But the girl that I partnered with on the dance project was still free thankfully so I picked her of course.

Hmm, you know what. I'll give her a name today. CMON THINK JERRY THINK, what name. WHAT NAME. OKAY never mind, i think ill find her a name some other time.

LAST CLASS is math. OK there was actually an incident in math today. A huge incident. Some random person joined our google meet and started cursing. The teacher removed him though. However, the teacher wanted someone to stand up.

Because that person must've had the link to the google meet to be able to join. Although the only people that HAVE that link are the students in this class. And so he deducted that whoever gave out the link must be in our class. Unfortunately, no one stood up. It was expected of course but still sad to see. Yeah, the rest of the math class wasn't all that exciting so I'll just skip it.

After classes, I introduced my friends to a thing called Micronations. They weren't too interested in it though and took it as a sort of joke so it didn't work out as nice as I would have wanted it to.

You see, I wanted to actually see how a government would get constructed from the inside and see for myself the steps one would need to build a nation.

And yes I know that this is most likely not exactly what happens to the big countries out there like the US and China but I think it would be fun to experience that constructing process anyway. Too bad my friends didn't have the same idea.

Ah, yeah I think my time is up. I'll be going to sleep now. good night my friends.

shortest post

HELLO. I am back. Today, wasn't really all that exciting to be frank. It was one of those "relaxing working days" as my dad likes to call them. Except for the fact that it wasn't very relaxing. sigh.

So since I went over to Rama's yesterday. I couldn't do my usual two hours of math per diem. Thus, I needed to make up for it today. And that's why I needed to complete four hours of math today. Which I did. So that makes up most of my day. Yup.

I barely did anything else in the breaks except for maybe some youtube and chatting a bit with friends.

You know, this might be the shortest blog I've written in the last 100 posts. LOLLL yeah, I think this is a record-breaker.

Oh wait, I remembered something I did now. I met up with Pen for around 2 hours to work on the position paper. Now, all it needs is a couple of tweaks and I think we're good to go. Mhm, not bad. We used some evidence coming from the agricultural perspective of the problem.

Oh yeah, if you don't remember what the committee was about: it was on the Emu War. I'm pretty sure I had a whole post about the history and all that like 15 posts back maybe. Yeah, my time is almost up too so I'll get going now. BYE

you've been flocked

Sigh, i fell asleep again last night.

So, yesterday's main activity was completely unplanned.

Anyways, our school has this "bonding activity" going on and basically it's where there is a kid who has a bunch of flamingo deco and a big sign that says "YOU'VE BEEN FLOCKED" and that kid needs to go over the another kid's house and give him all the stuff. When the two kids meet, they need to take a picture and then the class president will post it on Instagram I'm pretty sure. The point is, after one kid gets flocked, that kid CANNOT get flocked again. That translates to, the later you get flocked, the less options you have to flock someone else.

In the morning, Toro flocked me. We took a picture and then, like two hours later we left the house to flock another kid. Now, on our way home from flocking someone else, Rama said in the group chat: "My mom says that you can come to my house today. Now. Right now." I showed it to my mom to see how she would react and then the most surprising thing happened. She said, "Sure."

Woah. So just like that, in an instant my mom agreed. I was a bit mind-boggled myself. Since we were already on the road from the flocking activity all we had to do was change directions. Psi's house is along the way to Rama's so we also scooped up Psi on the way too. We got to Rama's place right? And then, Toro was going to come as well!

If you guys didn't know, Toro is SUPER DUPER careful about the virus and he basically hasn't gone outside of his house more than 5 times in the last 8 months. You can tell by simply looking at his hair.  It's grown so so long, and that's what 8 months without cutting hair can do. I think it looks nice though.

But he came, and that's what matters.

We played ping pong, volleyball, and monopoly. LOL I just listed like 6 hours worth of activities in one sentence. Yup. And uh, it's currently 9:36 AM over here so I'll end this post here since I have my class at 10. cya

white Friday

Hi everyone! Honestly, I'm having a hard time coming up with new ways to start the blog. Sigh, I guess I'll look it up later. Hopefully, Google is large enough to have enough openings to last me a few months.

So I'll give you a quick overview of what happened today.

You are probably aware that today is Black Friday. In the morning, we went to the mall to see if we could strike any bargains. Sadly, we didn't buy that much but at least I managed to get myself a wallet and a really nice T-shirt too.

The T-shirt was white, which happens to be one of my most-liked colors if not my favorite one. Usually, that's not enough to convince me to buy it just yet. BUT, this T-shirt had a number on the sleeve. "What number?", you might ask, well, it was the number 3. WHICH JUST SO HAPPENS TO BE MY FAVORITE NUMBER!! So you see, when a shirt magically has both your favorite color and favorite number and is ON SALE...you buy it.

Yup, ah right I also traded a bit today too. Although, it's kinda a special day so the market was only open for half the time and it closed 3 hours earlier than usual. I don't think I really made too much today, but at least I didn't lose anything so that's awesome. Mhm, I'll keep you updated on that part.

Later on, we went over to mom's store and helped out a little.

Came home, ate some dinner, and then played this volleyball game in Roblox with Rama, Dino, Psi, and some others.

Finally, talked about geometry with dad. Mostly on the 4 centers in a triangle and how to use them.

And that's about it. Ok, only a couple minutes left. Luckily, I have taken my shower early and brushed my teeth as well. So it should be a speedy routine tonight. Nevertheless, I should get going. Boa noite.

Happy Thanksgiving 2020

Well, would you look at that. It's Thanksgiving! I believe that's my cue to tell you what my project was now. My project was to write Thank you paragraphs and messages to everyone that I knew. I think I wrote around 15-20 paragraphs and the rest were just messages.

So, let's see, all of the ones I've given a name to on this blog I wrote a paragraph to. A specialized paragraph just for them. They were all different and so that's why the project took more time than if I just simply sent Happy Thanksgiving! to everyone. That's just copy paste a whole bunch of times.

Mhm, so writing those and sending them out took the majority of my day LOL. But, receiving all those responses back, I think it was a pretty neat experience. On discord, one point I got back like 10 messages in a row from lots of different people. The feeling you get from that is phenomenal. Let me tell you something, I will probably continue writing these messages for as long as possible.

Ah, and the market wasn't open today so there wasn't any trading going on. The prices just stayed stagnant for a day, but right now it's back on the move.

Oh yea, and I am writing this blog on November 27, the day AFTER thanksgiving because I fell asleep really fast so I didn't get to write it. Anyways, I'm going to write another blog tonight of course. Ah, and today's black Friday so my parents are calling me to go out rn. Cya later guys1

 secret project ;)

HELLO! What cheer? btw that's 17th century English for how are you. It's neat though so perhaps I'll use it often.

Basically, right now, I'm very busy finishing up my project for tomorrow. So I might not go too much into detail today.

Let's start off with the stocks. Of course, Tesla rose today. Making me quite a good amount of profit. Earlier on in the day, Tesla dipped down to 546. In discord, I'm in this server owned by a pretty famous investor and YouTuber. This server has over 25 thousand people, investors from all over the globe, and lots of 6 and 7 figure traders too.

When the dip happened, the Tesla chat started exploding. People were arguing whether to buy or not, being a full-on Tesla supporter I bought some obviously. As of this moment, the price is sitting at 574 so that's 28 dollars right there LOLLL. The people who hesitated to buy are probably regretting their decision right about now.

Outside of the market, I went to take my piano class today! My teacher and I went over almost all of my pieces including the one I just started learning yesterday, Autumn Leaves. Apparently, my teacher isn't a big fan of jazz but she said she could help me get on the right track of practicing it on my own.

She mainly focused on my Elegy since this is the first time she's ever heard me play it before so there were a lot of fingering errors and rhythmical stuff that I didn't get exactly right. After fixing the fingering, I do have to admit it sounds better now. More natural is a good way to put it.

After getting home I ate lamb chops for dinner. Yup, LAMB CHOPS. I don't actually remember when's the last time I've eaten lamb but I'm sure it was quite a while ago. Ostensibly, my parents found it at Costco so they decided to give it a try. I think it turned out great, although it was pretty spicy. I had to drink like 10 glasses of water to put out the fire in my mouth LOL.

Yeah, and then I had my Math class. As soon as that finished, I started working on the project. It's nearly done now, only missing a couple more to go. OKIE, well, I have to get back to that since it's due tomorrow. Fare thee well.

tbd

Heyyy, well, as I clearly pointed out yesterday. Tesla is the future. LOLLL and I'm not even kidding.

EV stocks, particularly Tesla, are going to the moon. Actually. Electric Vehicles will dominate the automobile sector entirely in the next 10 years. A lot of countries have already set up a ban on gas-powered cars for 2030 or 2035.

And even better, Tesla is going to officially become part of the S&P 500 on December 21. When it does, there will be a HUGE gap up. Then, a sell-out will probably ensue and drop the price a bit. However, we're looking long term here.

In the next 5 to 10 years, Tesla will just rise and rise and rise. It's not a bubble. It's a buy. That's according to various sources anyway. There are also other EV stocks you should keep your eye on like NIO and XPeng.

NIO seems to be the leader out of the two for now, but we can't predict the future. One of them will win eventually, and when that time comes, in addition to the gas-powered car ban, they will grow like crazy. And if that actually happens, you'll regret not listening to Jerry's advice and buying it right now. LOL not that you have to. Just a good investment to keep.

Ah right, so as I was saying, Tesla's stock price rose again today. Nearly 8% to be exact here. My gains are having a field day thanks to Tesla so I'm really grateful to have that position. Mhm, and ah yes, I also invested in some Square shares. I got them at a fair price too which is great since I know this price might never return again LOL.

Oh yeah I also did some math, practiced some piano, did some research... OH I forgot to tell you about the new piece I started learning! It's called Autumn Leaves and it's a jazz song so this will be my first jazz piece on piano EVER.

Square Inc.

Hello! My dear friends, how are you all today?

It's been a fine day. Nothing too out of the ordinary occurred. And overall, a pretty normal day.

So Tesla made a huge jump. From $490 to $523, that 33 dollar gain per share certainly carried my portfolio gains today. NIO also had a great day. Ah right, NIO is an electric car company. An automobile manufacturer in China that specializes in electric vehicles. They went up even more than Tesla, a staggering 15% from my last check. And oh yeah, I just checked again, Tesla is at 529 now! YAYYY

Ah yes, let us revenons à nos moutons(get back to the main topic). LOL, another french phrase. So I wanted to say that I've become interested in this company called Square.

It has similar services to that of PayPal and Venmo but it has something more too. They have this little product shaped like a square, and you can plug it onto your phone. With that little square, you can swipe credit cards to either buy or sell something. That's the concept that gave them their company name, Square.

In addition to this super neat product, they also have a nice POS (point of sale) system that allows small businesses to run with ease. Not only that, but Square also developed a cash app that started out just as a little side project but now it takes up more than a quarter of their revenue and is the fastest-growing sector of their company.

Aha, I know a little about the CEO of Square as well. Jack Dorsey, the CEO of Square also happens to be the CEO of another company that I'm 100% sure you've all heard of. Twitter. Yup, that's right. Dorsey is the CEO of both of these companies.

Many say he's going to be the one that picks up where Elon Musk left off in PayPal. However, there are naysayers that go around thinking he's going to be too overwhelmed looking after both ends.

Another interesting thing about Dorsey was that he once said, "The internet deserves its own currency." Being a Bitcoin believer, he strongly advocates for Bitcoin thinking that it should be the internet's currency. So in his cash app, I'm pretty sure you also have the option to trade cryptocurrencies.

As you could probably tell. it's really versatile. The whole company has lots of features that are needed in our society and in the future too. If global currencies get messy and banks keep on printing and printing... Square could be revolutionary.

Yeah, that was pretty much a summary of my research today on Square. It went up quite a lot today too, maybe not as much as NIO and Tesla but still a great amount. I might start looking for an opportunity to buy soon.

Yeah, so today's blog was a pretty huge analysis and summary of my research on Square. LOL, okie I'll cya later

 french phrases

Hey guys, welcome to the first Sunday of Thanksgiving break. Bear in mind that the last day of Thanksgiving break will also be on a Sunday. So that leaves us 6 more days of the break if we don't count today since it's about to be over anyway.

Six more days. And only four more days till Thanksgiving. I actually gave myself a little project to do before Thanksgiving so I need to start putting time into that starting tomorrow. Well, I have the preparations done already, now I just need to start it. And this project will be executed in secret, until the very final revelation. So mom and dad and Psi and Rama or whoever else reading this, don't expect me to tell you what it is. LOL you'll find out in four days anyway.

So I gotta do this thing ventre à terre so it doesn't arouse too much suspicion. and yes, that's French. you see, I tried learning some French phrases that natives use all the time online. These aren't really stuff you can learn from a textbook in school so it's cool if I'm able to use them at the right time someday.

It's like slang almost. These phrases wouldn't make much sense if you translated it and read it literally. It's a result of centuries of French culture so people are accustomed to it even if it doesn't make much sense just saying it like that without a background behind it. You need to know the meaning if you want to understand. The one I just said, ventre à terre, means to do it really fast. Full speed ahead!

Yeah, there are a few others I picked up, but I'll save those for more suitable occasions.

Mhm, so I followed the schedule I planned out last night so it all went pretty smoothly I think. I did some problems with math, practiced some piano, you know the usual things. OH NO, dang it. My time has run out. I only have a couple minutes to finish and get to bed. good night everyone.

 what a start

So, today was the first day of break. And what better way to start it than to take a test?

Yup, you read that right. The second phase of OMPR. This usually is a breeze. Easy problems and tons of time. However, I got a bit too confident and so I guess I didn't check every problem thoroughly. I missed the answer to a pretty simple question because I got blindsided by its simplicity. Sigh, so that's the story of me losing my gold medal to a dumb mistake. Yea, not the best way to start off the day.

Anyway, I spent some time later on in the day working on the second phase exam for the superior level. Ah right, I should explain the levels. Essentially, in this competition, they divide the participants into three levels. Elementary, Intermediate, and Superior. They are classified according to grade levels.

4th, 5th, and 6th grade are Elementary. 7th, 8th, and 9th and Intermediate. And lastly, 10th, 11th, and 12th are Superior.

The intermediate problems were super simple and yes, I know I got one wrong but they were still relatively easy compared to the other problems I usually do. I decided to test my luck on the superior level second phase test as some sort of simulation of how I'd do next year.

I managed to get around 12 or 13 right out of the 15 questions. Looks like I still need a bit more practice before ensuring a gold medal in the bag for next year.

After I finished those problems I just lounged around a bit and had some lunch. Later I watched a show for a while and got in a call with Psi, Toro, and Rama. I introduced them to Canary today. I figured it was time for them to see who this mysterious "Canary" was. We had a mighty long conversation that lasted around two hours or so.

Right, so then I ate dinner and wrote out my schedule outline for this week of break. We agreed on 3 hours of math each day except for Friday and Saturday which are my free days. Yup, now after I write my blog I have like 40 minutes of free time before bed. This is awesome. okie, BYEEE

schedule change

why, what a majestic night it is.

It sure is getting darker a lot earlier now. Winter solstice is coming in a month. If you didn't know, the winter solstice is the day with the shortest amount of sunlight in the entire year. So, that means the sun sets sooner which results in the day becoming darker earlier.

Anyway, today's classes were super short. However, that's all going to change after we come back from Thanksgiving break. Why? Because they changed the schedule once again.

They made Wednesdays an off-day! So then, I'll only have four days of school a week. They basically removed Friday from the schedule we had now and then put the free day on Wednesday. The rest of the schedule like the orders of the classes all remain the same.

I'll keep the classes short and sweet.

Physics: One quiz, sadly my I'm not that good with my calculator yet so I guess I must've entered the numbers in the wrong order or something that messed up the final result. The point is, I got one question wrong and that question was basically all calculator. No real work needed. Sadly, I got it wrong LOL so I got one wrong out of 10. That's 90% and it lowered my grade a little but that's ok, it'll come back soon.
Music: A larger class with some of the other students in the big class. The teacher asked everyone to play something and so I played my Elegy. Although my hands were trembling since there were some people I've never played in front of before LOL but I think it wasn't all that bad. At least I was able to finish the whole piece in a relatively pleasant manner.
PE: We were supposed to take a quiz but she canceled it and talked to us a little to wish us a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Math: Well, there actually WAS a quiz in math, and ahem, I aced it of course. Easy 16/16.
English: It was another meeting with the counselor, we have to take this pretty long survey to figure out the best career choices for us. And apparently, the top three for me were Marketing, Business Management and Administration, and finally Government and Public Administration. Those were my top three according to my survey answers.
Spanish: I managed to write my final paragraph in 20 minutes LOL, so that's great. Some minor tweaks will be needed so I'll see to it during the break.
History: Final class of the day, I needed to fix this one classwork to maybe get the full credit because ostensibly, I wasn't "specific" enough. So I did that, and then later added on to my notes too.

That's it for the last day of school before Thanksgiving break. Then after that, I followed that special schedule I had planned out yesterday and managed to finish my math early on. That way I didn't have to worry about it later! Sigh, it's nearly 12, and so I must go. Adios mis amigos. BYEEE

life-impacting

HIII, it's Jerry here! Back with another consecutive post.

I made a pretty big life-impacting decision today.

Um oh, wait, first of all, did anything fun happen in school? Ah yes, there were some fun times in school today so I'll cover those first.

In Physics we had a short presentation on some other applications of gravity and later we did a pretty simple lab on it. (which I aced btw) So that's 30 easy points in the bag. My physics grade is 97% now LETS GOOO! I need to make sure I don't make any dumb mistakes on these labs because those cost a lot of points and are usually pretty easy too. If I can manage that, and do good on the quizzes too, then I'm set for an even higher grade.

In Music, we basically finished refining all the rough patches in my playing. Now, it's just the little details and the "musicianship" as my teacher calls it. Your own emotions and dynamics shown through each and every one of the notes that rings out. That's what I need to focus on right now for music. That has to do with one's understanding of the piece, you must understand it to interpret and demonstrate your own opinion on it. Especially if it's going to be in a musical manner.

We had PE then. Today's class was not really fun at all, at the start she gave us like 20 minutes to review for the short quiz we're going to be having tomorrow and then we did this little project thing on body types. The three main body types are ectomorph, mesomorph, and endomorph. I learned something new at least, but overall it was pretty boring.

Finally in Math, we had the same old routine as always. The slow explanation because of the constant barrage of questions. Eventually, we got to a problem where we could go into breakout rooms if we wanted to but I just didn't go anywhere because I thought it was straightforward and I could get it done in around 2 minutes if not less.

Then what surprised me was, Fox first gave me a call asking what we needed to do, then Beam right after, and next came Dino LOLLL I felt like a customer service person getting all these calls one after another. Yup, and then I just checked the outline for tomorrow. No quiz for math! yay, that means a relatively relaxing class before break.

Sigh, now we're moving on to that "life-impacting decision" I mentioned earlier. So my mom came home,  real mad because apparently my dad had been ranting about me not doing enough math to her throughout all the ride home. And my mom hates listening to my dad ramble on and on so in turn, all the hate goes towards me. Of course.

She gave me three options.

Option numero uno, I sign a contract with them that I won't blame them if I get absolutely nowhere in life and they won't bother me all the way until 18 years old. Ahem, well that one's crossed off the list already.
Option number two, every day after school they unplug the wi-fi until I finish all of my math. Sigh, I'd like to avoid that one too if possible.

Finally, le grand option number trois. I start doing my homework without my dad having to constantly scream at me to make me do it and I need to do at least 2 hours every single day. Outside of classes.

As you see, that's basically the only viable choice here so clearly that's the one I chose. They also made some other requirements, but they're not too big and I'm short on time, so I'm not going to mention them. OKIE I HAVE TO GO SHOWER NOW BYE BYE AND BONNE NUIT

thanksgiving is close

Why hello! Today went by pretty fast, so I think the blog could be pretty short too.

In the morning we had English. The class I was looking forward to the most today since we have all class to work on that essay. Ostensibly, lots of people were having trouble writing anything so she extended the due date of the essay. Now, she said that we can continue it AFTER the break!

OH RIGHT, I haven't told you about that yet! So, it's the month of November. What's in November? That's right, Thanksgiving. So what our school does, is pile up all the individual holidays and make them into one week-long break that we call Thanksgiving break. And it starts THIS weekend! So after tomorrow, all I have left is Friday and I'm home free for a whole 9 days!

I plan on finishing and completing my English essay over the break and then have the teacher do a final revision on it when we get back to fix anything I might've missed.

In class today I'm nearly done with the second paragraph, but there are still some parts I need to figure out like how to link the first and second paragraphs together. There has to be some kind of transition right? Well, that's on my to-do list for now but first, we're moving on to Spanish!

As I said before, last Spanish class, some kids said that we were supposed to be attending this zoom event although I'm sure it wasn't mandatory. The teacher was a bit mad and so she assigned to us that we had to write a VERY SPECIFIC paragraph about what we learned during her class time out of spite.

Sadly, she was serious about it but my internet was pretty bad during that time so I wasn't able to get all that many notes to write my paragraph with. I did get one part though. One part in the very beginning. As soon as she asked a question about the topic that I had, I opened my mic and said ME ME ME, and thankfully she picked me because otherwise I would probably be done for. So I was basically the first one to answer and got the points immediately which was awesome. Then I also finished writing the second paragraph of my rough draft for the Spanish essay.

Lastly, we had History. We just went to another zoom event, this one was a guy talking about how he grew up in a really poor place and pursued his dreams to bring his passion for arts to the world. It was quite inspiring even though I'm not that interested in acting. Yup, that was how school went for today. cya!

learning rates

What a day.

In Physics, we had a whole new lesson. This time, introducing... gravity!

We talked about how Newton made a connection between the apple falling from a tree and the moon falling towards Earth. This led to him making out a formula that's called the law of universal gravitation. Took some notes, and then moved on to solving problems on this website. The teacher allowed us to leave when we finished completing that.

Next up was Music. I had practiced the past few days so my playing is a lot flowier and not chunky like before since I needed to stop a little to read the notes while playing. I'm pretty sure I have the whole piece memorized by now which is awesome because that means I don't have to worry about losing the score LOL.

Oh and if you didn't know, the score is basically just the sheet music or wherever the notes are written on. I guess it's considered part of a certain lexicon for music.

After a quick microwave lunch, I jumped into the PE classroom. The teacher gave us another presentation on the FIT formula which is an acronym for Frequency, Intensity, and Time plus some additional information about body composition. Like a pound of fat is composed of 3,500 calories. Bet you didn't know that!

and yes, I know that you guys already know this Psi and Rama, unless your memory is so bad that you forgot already LOLLL. Well, we then played a Kahoot on this. I got fourth, but that was under the condition that my Wi-Fi was absolutely terrible and I didn't even get to see the first two questions. And then, of course, we did a workout.

The final class was Math. Once again, the speed in this class is real slow. Literally, the teaching rate for Physics and Math are polar opposites. Two extremes. I AM looking forward to tomorrow's English class though, so much in fact that I even wrote a bit after dinner so I didn't need to do it all in class tomorrow.

Maybe, the word spread about how I'm an absolute god at writing and then tomorrow even MORE people come looking for advice... just maybe. well, I'll leave it at that. good night!

 mister coolio

Heyyy what's up everyone! Hope you all had some fun stuff to do today because I actually do have some cool stories to talk about today LOL!

So in English, as soon as we go in we start the end unit essay. So I'm there, a bit lost on how to start. Three paragraph essay, sounds easy enough right? Well turns out it's not. At least to start. There is this quote, "The secret to getting ahead is getting started." However, getting started is often the most difficult part of the whole job. Anyways, I decided my essay should hook the reader with a powerful quote in the first sentence since I'm a quote guy.

Now, there were two quotes I was deciding between. Here I'll plug them in here:

1. “It is not the strongest species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the most responsive to change.”

2. “In a chronically leaking boat, energy devoted to changing vessels is more productive than energy devoted to patching leaks.

Those two. The first one is by the great Father of Evolution, Charles Darwin. The second is by the legend himself, Warren Buffett. So, basically, both of them are great but which one relates better with my essay? That was the question I was trying to find an answer to. I asked the teacher and she said the first one was good so I figured I'd use that one since it's simpler to comprehend as well.

ANDDD the really funny part about this class was that three other kids from my class were contacting me asking for help and advice LOL. I felt important all of a sudden haha, I helped them as best as I could. I also got quite a lot of help from the teacher in comparison to the rest of my classmates. She commented on my essay for a full 4 minutes nonstop when she only took one or two minutes for other people. MUAHAHA! We'll be writing more of the essay next class.

Now we're in Spanish, but there was a conference thing going on in Zoom where people were explaining stuff about a local dance, and some of the kids in including Rama started saying that we're supposed to be there instead of in Spanish so she let us go.

Finally, in History, we talked over what we took notes on in the previous class and took even more notes. Sigh, pretty uneventful.

AFTER school...
The NJHS student board which includes Psi, Rama, and Toro had a meeting and they were assigned a task. That task was to find and collect the phone numbers of all the new members joining the NJHS. There are around 30-40 members I would estimate, and most of them are from 8th grade which is one grade below us.

Sigh, I knew that my friends were going to have a hard time getting all those numbers so I decided to lend a happy helping hand. I think I got the job done in quite an efficient manner. I found all of them except for two. I tried really hard to look for those final two but I just couldn't find them.

Luckily, Psi should be able to contact one of them in the next NJHS meeting and hopefully find some other way to reach the final one.

Yup, the point is, I had a feeling of what it felt like to be popular. Well, not really popular. Just, to be in touch with a lot of people I guess. I was thinking of naming this blog, mister popularity but I wouldn't say that's the best word choice so I'll name it coolio instead. BYEEE

nothing special

Hope you're all doing amazing because frankly there weren't really too many highlights for me today.

In the morning I had my Chinese class with my grandma for nearly two hours.

Right after, Pen and I met up in a zoom meeting to write a part of the position paper for the competition, and also discuss our ideas for any potential plans we might be able to use. That took up another two to three hours.

Then I ate a little lunch, laid back for a bit, and went to do some math. There are these worksheets that this class I take gives out so I just did those problems. The ones I did today were mostly on modulus; the ones used most when it involves squares are 3 and 4 but when it comes to cubes, we use 7 and 9 more.

That's mainly because using these mods simplifies the problem the best making it easier for us to find a solution in the least amount of time. Yeah, and it may not look like it but by now it's already around 5 o' clock so I went to pick up mom from work.

After we get back we eat a nice dinner and then I cleaned the tidied up the rooms. Finally, I went and learned more about how to draw and construct stuff since geometry is my worst topic according to my dad and one of my other teachers.

Mhm, yeah I just got out of that and now here I am writing my blog. Unfortunately, it is currently 10:50 PM, only a meager 10 minutes until my phone gets taken away so I don't really have any free time before bed. Yeah, as I said, not that many highlights today.

Oh but Rama seems to be curious about Canary LOL. AND they'll probably both read this blog sigh, I'll see what their reactions are tomorrow. cya!

The Great Emu War of 1932

Today was pretty relaxing I guess you could say. I did my research on the Emu War for Model UN. I'll give you some background information on the war.

Basically, this is in 1932 during the Great Depression. In Australia, the Prime Minister gave his full support to Britain in the war. Citizens enlisted as soldiers and there were tons of deaths and casualties. This caused the government in Australia to rely on farmers even more because the majority of the other citizens were taking subsidies.

However, the farmers were also having a hard time since there was a drought and also because of emus. Emus are these fast, strong birds that are close relatives to the ostrich. It just so happened to be their mating season so around 20,000 emus came from the coast to the Campion District of Western Australia for breeding. And they wanted to take the farmland there as their own. This wasn't too hard for them considering their numbers and physical conditioning.

They can run like 30 something kilometers per hour which is faster than any car back at that time. Also, their talons could shred through metal, allowing them to break the fences of the farmland that were guarding the crops. Breaking the fences resulted in other creatures like rabbits to go into the farmland and eat the crops as well.

As you can see, this puts even more economic strain on Australia, so the government acted with haste and sent a team out to kill the emus. However, they clearly underestimated the birds as they only sent three men with two machine guns.

The three-man squad wasn't that successful and after two attempts they had only killed 986 emus out of the roughly 20,000 emus that were ravaging the lands. By this time they had already used up 10,000 bullets.

In the end, the emus won the war by outlasting the humans. Essentially the controversy is on whether or not we should've killed the emus since they're the national bird of Australia but then again they were a large factor of why the farmers weren't growing enough crops to supply the people.

Later on, I called up Psi and I asked him for his opinion on the war. He also agreed with killing the emus. Although they were indeed the national bird, the people living in Australia should be considered as an even higher priority.

Hmm oh and then finally the tutoring session. Sigh, well it didn't go as expected. The student didn't show up and didn't say anything either. I believe they're still trying to figure out what's going on. I'll need to ask the coordinator again tomorrow. Wow, I'm still really tired. I'll go to sleep now, good night

quick recap

Well, top of the morning to all of you. Sigh, I felt really sleepy and groggy last night so as soon as I laid down just to rest my eyes, I fell asleep heh heh, This post is to make up for yesterdays.

As you know, yesterday was Friday. That means I have all 7 of my classes in rapid succession one after the other, 25 minutes each.

Physics - a quiz on power and efficiency
Music - more practicing the piece and refining
PE - oh no I forgot what we did. um I think we just reviewed the stuff from the class before
Algebra - another quiz, which I aced btw
English - the academic advisor came and asked us to fill out this survey
Spanish - a quote discussion and finding a quote for our essay
History - watching a video on Taino mythology and discussing it

On Saturday I also have to meet up with my model UN partner. You know, I should really give him a name on my blog after mentioning him all these times. I shall call him, Pen. Shh, don't question my name-giving. Every name I give actually all have meanings behind them, however, you will most likely never uncover them. MUAHAHAHAHA okie I'm meeting with Pen soon so cya

Guess who just became a tutor

Shalom my friends! I'm in a jolly mood tonight. However, the time is hot on my heels. I only got around 10 minutes to write and then I gotta rush to complete my night routine in half the usual time sigh.

So in Physics class today we had an overview of efficiency and incline planes. Then we were introduced to springs. Hooke's Law and Elastic Potential energy were two of the main things he talked about. Right after the presentation on that we needed to individually complete a lab on this interactive website we signed up for. It's called Pivot Interactives. So there's a lab there on springs waiting for us and after we finished we were free to leave.

In Music, the kid who is supposed to go before me didn't show up when I checked in on the classroom at 10:20 AM, as usually my class starts at 10:25 but since the kid wasn't there I just joined in. Those sweet 5 minutes of extra class time LOLL. Now I completely finished learning the Elegy for Victims of Earthquakes and Tsunamis. I gotta focus on polishing it now. That's basically what we did for the entire class.

Later in PE, the teacher gave us this 15 slide presentation on body composition. That took up a large portion of the class since there was a discussion phase in nearly every slide. Right after the presentation, to test if we were listening to her, she had us play a Kahoot on what we just learned! Bonus points if we come in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. Guess what? That's right. I GOT SECOND yayyy. And yes, I was only aiming for the podium, not 1st. My internet doesn't let me get 1st usually LOL. Okie moving on.

Sigh, really not that much to talk about for Algebra. We spent like an entire hour on one single problem that wasn't even all that hard in my opinion. Then later we learned how to find local minimas and maximas on our graphing calculators which I figured out rather quickly on my TI-nspire CX II.

OHH a big highlight of today was that I finally got assigned a student for the BOP tutoring organization! You remember the one I was admitted to where we get to teach English to students in China? Now, Jerry has a student muahahaha. Jerry is a tutor now. He will have his debut class this Saturday at 8:30 PM. Let's see how it goes. CYAAA

 Essays on essays

Today was overall pretty good.

Rama usually wakes up at like 6 every morning so I decided to try out his strategy. So, I woke up earlier than usual at 6:40 and I read my very fascinating sociology book. Productive mornings you see?

In English, first, the teacher gave us a PPT presentation on some tips for writing an essay.

Then, we had an overview of the rubric for the end unit essay coming up next week. It's a three-paragraph essay where we have to skillfully analyze how the main character develops over the 5 stages in the story in a coherent, organized manner. Oh, there's also style points so we gotta pump up that pizzazz. Jeez, I love that word. Pizzazz - An attractive combination of vitality and glamour. Look, even the definition sounds fancy.

After going over the rubric we needed to fill out this worksheet that is supposed to aid us in writing the essay. However, as I thought I was almost done with it, the teacher enters my document and tells me I need to shorten my answer to one sentence. One sentence? Damn, that's hard. I spent the rest of the class trying to figure it out too.

Then we get to Spanish. This was a very weird class today. Why? Hmm well, the teacher had us start the Spanish essay today. Actually, she gave us some of the SAME tips I just heard in English sigh. Only in a different language. Ah right, the essay is on what we want to do in the future.

It's a personal essay. And I don't like writing personal topics in academic essays. I mean I'm fine doing it on my blog. But when it's for points and a grade... the pressure just goes up. It's like...if I get a bad grade on the essay for my future, does that mean I have a bad future? Perhaps that's a bit hyperbolical but you get the gist of it.

The thing is, the prompt asks for what we wish to do with our lives. And, freshmen in high school just don't have the ability to answer that accurately yet. There are still tons of fluctuating factors that could influence our future. I guess I COULD make something up and not write what I actually would write but then I have a feeling it'll turn out soulless and dull. Resulting in a lousy grade probably. So it's a lose-lose situation in my perspective.

Then it was even worse when she said we needed to tell her what we wanted to do right there, right at that moment in front of the whole class. She put me on the spot there since I'm first on the alphabetical list and all I could do was say "I don't know yet". Four kids after me did the same.

Thus, she decided to start from the bottom of the list. Rama is up first then. Lucky for him, Rama has his career thought out already. He wants to become a medical doctor. Um, I believe one other kid also said the same thing.

Then slowly from there on, more and more kids came up with answers to the problem. There were musicians, filmmakers, actors. As you can see, these kids are no longer the little children running around the playground with the largest dreams anymore. There weren't any astronauts, there weren't any pirates, there weren't any kings. I guess it's within the process of life. Sigh, "nothing gold can stay" as poet Robert Frost once wrote. In the end, I decided to roll with business. Something related to business. That's what I would think right now anyway. There's still a long way to go.

History was no fun. Just a whole bunch of notes and then reviewing the notes. Migration theories, agriculture, civilization, Archaics, Arawak, Igneri, Pre-Taino, Taino, etc. That took up the whole class.

Ah yes, I also got a haircut after school. It's not super tall anymore LOL. Yup, well I'll be going now then. Good night!

tired day

Why hello everyone! Right now my mind is having trouble conjuring up a word to describe today. It felt like a slow, tiring day. So, we'll just start writing LOL.

We start off today with Physics. Hmm oh right, we talked about power. The SI unit for power are Watts. They are joules per second. Oh we also learned the 6 simple machines and efficiency. Really full class. Mhm and then we ended the class by working on a worksheet with problems for efficiency in machines.

In PE we had the first half of the class to "finalize our video" but Fox had already finished editing and compiling together the videos we filmed yesterday so we basically had some free time. OH right me and Fox, we did membean and made it a competition to see who got a higher accuracy.

However, since I had level 5 words and he was on level 3, we agreed to add 7% to my final accuracy to make things fair. In the end I got 91% he got got 97%. BUT, with the 7% we agreed on... I WON! YAYYY.

After our competition we just jumped from breakout room to breakout room visiting our fellow classmates. Before long, time was up and we had to go back to do a workout. Because of course we can't have an online PE class without a workout.

Lastly in math, we're talking about some pretty heavy stuff. It's still going a bit slow but at least the material increased in difficulty. So now we're talking about minimas and maximas for graphed polynomials. We might have a quiz on it soon too. We better not have to draw out the graph because as you all should know by now, I hate graphing. I abhor it. (membean word btw) Anyways, that's it for school.

Later I played some chess with Beam. Two games and we each won once. Looks like we're going to have to break the draw next time. Hmm ah yes I also watched this Youtube video where a pianist was saying how she got from 86 WPM to 120 WPM in just an hour. The strategies work I think but they didn't work as well for me as they did for her. Oh well, I guess it's more of a practice thing. I'll be going now, cya!

maravilloso job everyone

Today was pretty productive. Why?

The first class we had was English. Actually, at this point, you probably know my whole schedule already LOLLL. So in English, we had another group discussion with a prompt that she gave us. Fortunately for me, Psi had no problemo with his internet today so he was able to actively discuss with the group.

Inside the breakout rooms, the teacher visited us two times throughout the 15 minutes of the time allotted for the discussion. After we finished our maravilloso presentation the teacher told the whole class about what she observed from every group upon entering their respected breakout room.

Ahem, I don't remember what she said about group 1 but I believe they weren't bad at least.

Group 2, OUR fantabulous group, was said to be very active in discussion, a very positive environment, set clear goals, paid attention to the time that was left, you get the idea.

Group 3, oh no. They were apparently quiet and not discussing BOTH times the teacher joined in to check so that wasn't great for them.

Then finally group 4, they had one person doing all the talking, taking up the leadership role and the other people didn't talk all that much.

Basically, if we were to rank the performances of the groups today I think it would be Groups 2, 4, 1, and 3. In that order. However, if someone in our group had volunteered to coordinate the whole discussion perhaps we would be even better. Luckily we still got more chances at this.

In Spanish, we answered the questions that we left off last class first and discussed the answers to all of them. That's practically what we did for the entire class. Fame can be bought; the recognition cannot. That's a direct quote from the essay we were reading. She did mention that we were going to be writing our own essays soon. That's not going to be fun.

Now, there are these two new girls in our Spanish class that always seem to know everything. However, my friends don't really like them since they basically belong to "the popular group" and plus we haven't really come into contact with them at all since we've gone virtual. Albeit, I believe, that I could possibly ask one of them to check my essay or something for any mistakes that I might've missed. That's a problem for another day though, so bonne nuit!

OH I FORGOT TO MENTION THAT WE FINISHED RECORDING AND EDITING OUR PE DANCE VIDEO TOOOOO

 boa noite

Greetings my friends. How do you do?

In the morning I couldn't really sleep in that much since I had a class with my grandma at 9. I got up around 8:20, trudged to the bathroom, got ready and stuff, and ate breakfast really fast. Then I got a call from my grandma telling me to hurry up so I went over to my room, plopped down on my seat, and opened the zoom meeting for her. Sigh, usually the class is 90 minutes long but today she extended it to 110 minutes so my dad got back home from dropping mom off at work before the class even finished I think.

Oh and then later in the day I rehearsed the dance with my group, however, we couldn't reach Fox for some reason so I rehearsed with the other member of our group. We tweaked a few moves and then added timestamps to our original document to help us follow along with the song better. I think we danced around 5 times if not more. Yeah, that took quite a long time.

Then the final main event of the day. Math. Yay. So I mostly tried to find the solutions to all the problems from the competition yesterday. Mhm, and then now I write down all the process on this big red notebook I had so it's all organized and nice when I flip through it. There wasn't anything THAT interesting today so I'll cut it short since I'm out of time anyways. Boa noite.

 saturdayyy

sigh, today was a long day. Mhm, I crawled out of bed at 7:40. That's 5 minutes before my alarm even sounded, and was trying to recall the dream I was having but I came up with nothing. Then I got ready for my surprise math competition that starts at 9.

Why do I say surprise? Because I didn't even know about it until like 3 days ago. They sent an email inviting me and I was like "oh ok, wait November 7th, let me check my calendar...THIS SATURDAY??" yeah, so I didn't really prepare specifically for this competition but luckily it doesn't affect me too much if I win or lose.

So we head in the Google Meet and we take the test. Tbh the problems were really dumb. Might even have been worse than Centro LOL. I mean not that the problems were harder, they were just really weird and there was always more than met the eye. Something underneath the surface that I didn't perceive at first and that's what led me to make a mistake that could've been avoided. I also overlooked a pretty important detail on one problem so that's another thing. All in all, it didn't go too well.

The test took 3 hours in total btw. So 1 hour after the test I had another math class. This one is for OMPR training, even though my olympiad is already over there's still one that hasn't occurred yet I believe. IBERO is its name. The class today was great actually. The teacher got 30 minutes late because she forgot about Daylight Savings but I think it was still pretty good.

We talked about the average of figures. It's connecting the midpoints of the segments created by connecting the matching vertices together of two similar polygons together. Then the resulting figure will also be a similar polygon to the first and second.

Later on, we went to Rama's place. We first played some volleyball at their community court, they actually have the full court for volleyball with the net set up already! Anyways we played for an hour or so but then Rama got injured falling while attempting to save the ball.

His house was a 5-minute walk from the court so we waited a bit first for him to recover and then we left towards his house. Hmm oh yeah besides Rama there was also Psi, Dino, and Tom! Rama, Dino, and Tom are all anime fans so they put on a show for us to watch. It was about this guy using "cursed energy" to save the world basically. We watched like 4 episodes before we had to go eat. Mhm, the kebabs Rama's mom made were really good, delectable, as Psi said LOLLL membean word!

OHH we also played Monopoly! The board game version is really fun with friends. Counting the money, actually having the properties laid out in front of you has a completely different feeling than online. Yup, well after all Monopoly can take hours so we never got to finish. Technically no one won although I think the winner would have been between Dino and me.

However, we can never know for sure can we? Nope, because that's life! LOLL i wanted to say that because I was just listening to Frank Sinatra singing that. sigh, well it's been tiring so good night!

energy for days

Salut mon amis! Comment ça va? Haha, that's part of the remains of my French knowledge from French class last year.

So, since we didn't have class on Tuesday because of elections, they moved Tuesday's original schedule to Friday! That means we have Physics first class.

And we start off with a quiz on potential and kinetic energy. This quiz was pretty easy, 5 questions, 10 points. We ended up getting a 10/10. Right after we discussed the answers to the quiz we had to complete a lab on energy with a partner. Rama was going with Dino, so I just partnered with Fox. We completed the whole thing right before class finished which is great because now we don't need to worry about it later!

Next, we got Music. Now, I haven't taken this class in quite a while. The last two times he couldn't show up for some reason but this time he did. We worked mostly on my Elegy and now I'm able to get to the third & final page. Oh I also showed him my Waltz in A Minor by Chopin but he told me I should focus on the Elegy so I guess I'll do that.

After a nice and speedy lunch comprised of some bread with cream cheese, we head on into PE class. For the first part of PE, we were given time to go into our respected breakout rooms and continue choreographing the dance. Fortunately, we managed to finish the whole song today, and hmm even though personally, I would have made a few tweaks here and there, overall I think it's pretty good.

The strong beat as I mentioned before certainly helps a lot with the dancing because then everything can be on beat and in sync. Psi's group, on the other hand, picked a pretty fast-paced song so they're taking more time in choreographing than us.

After breakout room time was over we did a workout using whatever weights we could find at home. LOLL at first Psi couldn't find any. He was just using the paper cover math book, but then the teacher called him out to say he needed to find something heavier so he resorted to using his backpack filled with some books instead. Meanwhile, I had dumbells at home so I just used those.

The workout was actually quite tiring for me, required quite a lot of strength. Some people finished really fast because their weights were clearly not heavy enough. One kid was doing shoulder presses at the rate of a machine gun XD but I guess speed also requires energy.

Lastly, there's Algebra. We did even more graphing and even a bit of calculus according to the teacher. Graphing turns out to be a large part of the calculus. We learned local minimum, local maximum, how to find them, and so on. That's basically what the whole class was based on. Yup, that's it for now, cya later!

i really dont have a good title for today

Well, somehow the results for the elections are STILL not out. Did they take a day off or something? Because they haven't moved at all since I checked yesterday. Looks like we're in for a wait fellas.

Anyway, classes, today were pretty ok. Hmm, nothing stood out TOO much but it wasn't a bad day either.

In the morning my tummy hurt so I didn't eat breakfast. Instead, I just drank a glass of hot milk and went into English.

In English, at first, she just gave us time to write out 5 claims on the development of the main character within the story. One claim for each stage the character goes through. Then at the end of the time she asked if anyone wanted to volunteer and no one stepped up.

Then she said that if no one was going to volunteer then she would just skip this part and not discuss the work. And then STILL no one stood up. Sigh, looks like Jerry is gonna have to come and save the day again. So I volunteered.

She had specifically asked to use membean words wherever possible so I added in at least one for each claim. I gotta admit though, those words instantly made my claim look a lot more professional lol. Idiosyncratic tendencies, that was a phrase that I used.

Oh, we also were divided into groups to discuss and make a presentation on our discussion in Jamboard, and I got fortunate enough to get in a group with Psi. HOWEVER, his internet went out half-way so he couldn't present LOLLL. Anyway, our slide was probably the best decorated out of all of them because yours truly, the ultimate slide designer is here. Hmm, oh and then we did a quick write too.

Next is Spanish! Today in Spanish we read an essay on the difference between fame and recognition. Fame is something superficial, something empty but recognition is deep and more profound than that. Fame will fade over time while recognition will not. It will stay forever.

Then she gave us questions to copy in our notebooks and told us we would answer them, next class, as we had already run out of time. The thing is, she looked at the time wrong.

So, she actually dismissed the class 30 minutes early. Well, she figured it out as there were only two people left in the class. Me and this other classmate. Then she had us dial the numbers of every kid in the class and in around 6 minutes we had gotten almost everyone back LOLL. Next, we finished and discussed three of the questions she gave us from before and we were actually dismissed this time.

Finally, in History. The teacher was busy with this MOAS competition so she just left us a ton of work to do while she was off doing that. We needed to take more notes, complete pages in the workbook, and ultimately answer some questions that she left us on this document which we had to turn in via Turnitin later. I managed to finish all of that in around 90 minutes and by then the class was already over. That's it for today and I'm a bit late on time today so good night everyone!

 Election Analyzing

Heyyy and as I predicted from yesterday, the results for the presidency aren't out yet.

Hmm, basically right now only four states haven't finished tallying up the votes: Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and lastly Nevada.

As of this moment, Biden is ahead in electoral votes leading with 264 to Trump's 214. Whichever candidate reaches 270 first, wins.

Now, Nevada is worth perfectly 6 electoral votes so if Biden can win over Nevada then it's all over. However, only 75% of the votes in Nevada have been tallied and although Biden has the majority with 49.3%, Trump is really close behind with 48.7%. This means that Trump still has a chance at taking Nevada with those remaining 25% of votes.

If you look at the other three states, Trump is leading over there with a pretty large margin and I think he's going to end up taking all of them. Albeit, even if he wins over those three states the electoral votes will be 264 to 265 and it all comes down to Nevada.

So, I think the results are still unclear. Biden does indeed have a larger chance at winning here though so I'm positive we'll find out tomorrow.

But tbh they say that if Biden wins the stock market will trend down and that's no bueno for me LOL. On the other side, if Trump wins then he promised that the stock market will have a good day and that's awesome because I have some pretty good stocks in my hands right now. Since I'm such a god I bought 7 shares of Zoom yesterday since it was really down costing only $450 and it has reached $580 before so I'm completely confident it'll rise soon and guess what? It went up 7% today. YAYY that's like $260 dollars of profit for moi!

School today wasn't bad either. In Physics we learned the formulas for kinetic and potential energy. KE = 1/2mv^2 and PE = mgh. Oh and then the total mechanical energy or TME is just KE + PE. We did a worksheet on that too which I finished rather quickly so I was able to submit it before the class was over.

Next in Music, it was really sad because the teacher didn't show up and didn't send me a text or anything either so in the end I had to wait 30 minutes in the Google Meet for him in case he came. Unfortunately, he didn't and I just used that time to practice on my own.

PE, well thanks to the math olympiad and the racism colloquium we had, I missed this class twice in row. So I had no idea what was going on. Apparently we're doing a dance routine and I'm in Fox's group which is great but I don't like dancing. Luckily, the music they chose wasn't all that bad in terms of dancing because it has a relatively slow beat which is very clear and easy to follow.  We didn't get all that far today in choreography though because I was just listening to this song for the first time so I needed to familiarize myself with it. Anyways, I can't wait to be done with this section of PE.

Finally we got Algebra. Today's topic was on graphing polynomials. We tried a couple of problems at first but a lot of kids were getting lost so he took quite a long time to clear all their doubts and answer their questions. In the end, we didn't finish that many problems but I think he successfully introduced graphing non-linear expressions to them so that's great. Mhm, that's it for school.

Woah, I have even more time to spare today. Looks like this is working guys. This schedule change seems to be doing well so I'll keep on doing it. Bye!

 sketchy store

My goodness. Why did today go by so fast? Oh, are the election results out yet? Ah, apparently they are not. However, Trump just won Florida so those are 29 electoral votes right there oof. Seems like it's close between the two. Well, I'm definitely not going to stay up all night to wait for a result I'll simply find out tomorrow or the day after tomorrow if the counting process takes longer than usual.

Hmm oh yeah did I mention that my school gave us the day off today due to it being election day? Anyway, I didn't take any classes today but I still had some work left to finish. Membean, an analysis chart, annotations, taking notes... Yeah, later on, we went out to a grocery store that we usually don't go to because someone told my mom that they sell good seafood there...so we went.

When we got there, the parking lot was SOOO empty because almost everyone went to vote for governor of PR. After parking, we went inside but personally, I didn't like this store that much. Sure, it was big and maybe it had a bit more stuff but everything felt weird.

The lights weren't that bright which gave it a spooky scary vibe and the stuff they sold seemed to be out of date or something. The packaging on some products was super old style plus I checked the expiration dates and a lot of them were almost at their sell-by dates.

My parents seemed to really like it though. They even bought this meat where the color looked off to me but they didn't pay attention to me and bought it anyway. I gotta give it some credit though because it tasted quite fine to me when we had it for dinner LOLL.

Mhm, that's pretty much all there is to today. Woah, I still got almost 25 minutes to spare. Guess I'll go take my shower now. cya!

 rollercoaster

Today was a rollercoaster. A real rollercoaster at that.

So the day begins. We have English first class so we hop in there at 8:29, only one minute before the class is supposed to start and I'm the only student that was there. Sigh, this is what happens now. No one joins the class early anymore.

OK, so in English today we were first given some time to work on the analyzation charts for the epigraphs, and then we discussed in breakout rooms. After some group discussion was done we needed to make presentations on what we discussed which ended pretty quickly and we were dismissed right after.

Next, we got Spanish! Why am I excited to write about this? Because this was probably the most exciting class today. And yes, it's very surprising indeed but it's true. Class starts and the teacher tells us to take out our textbooks since today we were going to be reading and discussing an essay. Now, I can't really tell you what the essay was called because I didn't quite understand that part or most of the essay for that matter but I have a general idea.

The essay basically states: Right now the big sociologists are coming together to discuss their conclusions. What can we do about our terrible economic situation? (I didn't really get what's so bad about our current economy but I just went with it) The only formula is to use cooperation which Jesus has been suggesting for a very long time. By uniting our efforts and strengths we are mutually benefiting each other. If only we had listened to Christ instead of ignoring him, so now he has gotten his vengeance after people crucified him for wanted to spread love and equality which is why we are in this very dire situation. And that's basically it for the essay.

However, I did not understand as well back when I was taking the class as I do now. This is why I was panicking when she said we needed to answer questions that were based on the essay but it turns out my classmates understood even LESS than I did!

So in the end I managed to somehow answer all the questions perfectly and passed her little quiz with flying colors! Full 10/10 baby. The teacher even said, "Jerry is understanding perfectly!" Let's gooooo I'm too good for Spanish. OK, I'm under Dino's singing influence right now btw so I might write some really fun rhymy phrases. Orrrr at least they rhymed in my head for some reason.

Finally, we're in History and the first thing we did was continue the debate because apparently they never covered one topic in the last class and that topic was Political Status which was SUPPOSED to be my group's shared topic but as you know they didn't do that much so it was essentially all me.

The debate is just everyone bombarding me with questions and I had to respond to them really quickly with whatever information I had. I actually think I did quite well considering I didn't prepare at all since I thought it was over already LOL.

The outline I made sure came in handy when they were asking questions and then for some other ones that didn't really relate to the stuff I had in the outline I just needed to make something up that sounded logical and keep it going from there. Improvisation skills 9000.

THEN, the NJHS sent an email. I got REJECTED. R-E-J-E-C-T-E-D. I had no idea how and why but I will write them an email tomorrow and they better have a real explanation or reason because otherwise, I'm going to find a way in. I will create a petition or something and have everyone I know sign it and then proceed to show it to them. I actually have no idea at all why they didn't accept and I'm sure my application has nothing to do with it. I need to say good night now because it's 11:11 and I need to go to bed. BYE

forms of energy

Good day everyone! My main goal today was to finish the physics video that we need to present in the next class. I chose to make my video with Fox and another friend that I'm going to name Dex.

So I'm here at Fox's house with Dex as well at 3 o'clock. I had planned beforehand with mom to pick me up at 6 so we had three hours to finish all the work. I would say the whole process went really smoothly. We only took two takes or less for each scene and the editing went pretty quickly as well since Fox takes Journalism as his elective so he's super skilled at editing videos and stuff.

It was on the different types of energy that can be found at home.

For mechanical energy, we had Dex golf indoors LOL. So the ball has mechanical energy since it has kinetic energy as it's moving.

Then for light energy, I just had this little "experiment" with a plant that was put under sunlight and it grew to a big size in 30 seconds. Which is obviously fake but the main part is just to show sunlight is light energy.

And then we did chemical and heat energy in the same scene with Fox cooking. The stove had heat energy and the toaster used electrical energy.

Next, Dex used Fox's Alexa to put on music which represented sound energy. Finally, I did electrical energy by flipping on a light switch.

That's it for the video. There were some really funny parts though but I'm not going to go into detail as there are people that read my blog and in my class so telling you here would ruin the surprise for them.

Yup, so that's the main activity for today. Cya!

step 1 As I have slowly settled into a somewhat steady rhythm here on MIT’s campus, I still often get asked by upperclassmen and family back...
