what a start
So, today was the first day of break. And what better way to start it than to take a test?
Yup, you read that right. The second phase of OMPR. This usually is a breeze. Easy problems and tons of time. However, I got a bit too confident and so I guess I didn't check every problem thoroughly. I missed the answer to a pretty simple question because I got blindsided by its simplicity. Sigh, so that's the story of me losing my gold medal to a dumb mistake. Yea, not the best way to start off the day.
Anyway, I spent some time later on in the day working on the second phase exam for the superior level. Ah right, I should explain the levels. Essentially, in this competition, they divide the participants into three levels. Elementary, Intermediate, and Superior. They are classified according to grade levels.
4th, 5th, and 6th grade are Elementary. 7th, 8th, and 9th and Intermediate. And lastly, 10th, 11th, and 12th are Superior.
The intermediate problems were super simple and yes, I know I got one wrong but they were still relatively easy compared to the other problems I usually do. I decided to test my luck on the superior level second phase test as some sort of simulation of how I'd do next year.
I managed to get around 12 or 13 right out of the 15 questions. Looks like I still need a bit more practice before ensuring a gold medal in the bag for next year.
After I finished those problems I just lounged around a bit and had some lunch. Later I watched a show for a while and got in a call with Psi, Toro, and Rama. I introduced them to Canary today. I figured it was time for them to see who this mysterious "Canary" was. We had a mighty long conversation that lasted around two hours or so.
Right, so then I ate dinner and wrote out my schedule outline for this week of break. We agreed on 3 hours of math each day except for Friday and Saturday which are my free days. Yup, now after I write my blog I have like 40 minutes of free time before bed. This is awesome. okie, BYEEE
