bad pawn
Heya guys how's it going! Sigh, I'm tired for some reason but I can't quite put my finger on it. I just keep yawning. Today's classes weren't too special either.
In English, we first discussed all the reading and discussion questions we did last time in groups - which took up like 2/3 of the class. We also talked about what's going to happen to our class next Tuesday, because, the school is giving us a PSAT. For practice purposes. However, apparently, the exam is scheduled to start at 10 and since English ends at 9:50 we should be able to finish the class completely.
Next is Spanish. Now, this wasn't very fun at all. It was the presentations on the jibaro vocabulary that I mentioned a few days ago. Sigh, I messed up on one of the definitions. The word was peon, with the accent on the o. It means a pawn. So when I wrote the definition, I put: The piece that has the least value in chess. Usually used for sacrifices or bait for a larger scheme. The average chess player does not care too much about them.
HOWEVER, the definition the teacher wanted, was a person who is being used. Like as a metaphor kind of. Therefore, although the definition I gave wasn't incorrect, it wasn't the particular one she wanted. Oh and in some of our other words, the example sentence we gave wasn't elaborate enough to inform the reader what the word actually meant. And that's how we ended up losing FIVE points. On a 30 points project. Sigh, that like an 83%. And in just the second week of the semester. This isn't looking good.
Finally, there's history. We finished up on taking notes and also combining the notes of the other members in our group with our own. Then, the teacher had explained a new project we're going to be starting on the African Legacy in Puerto Rico. Ostensibly, this presentation is supposed to be mainly VISUAL so we need to put as little writing as possible and just spam pictures. My group is still the same as the note-taking one so, Rama and Pen. I sure hope this one fares better than Spanish sigh.
Oh, and I finished reviewing that AMC10 exam that I did the other day. Okay then, tired Jerry has to go prepare for bed now. Goodbye!
